Kenneth W. Juenger, 87, of Darmstadt, Ill.., formerly of Belleville, Ill., born September 3, 1921, died on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Rosewood Care Center, Swansea, Ill.
Kenneth was raised in the Darmstadt area but as a young
adult moved to the St. Louis area where he lived, worked and married his childhood friend. Together they started a family and relocated in Belleville, Ill. Kenneth retired from Texaco/Chervon and then began farming and gravitated back to his old homestead in Darmstadt.
Kenneth was known for his preference to the natural way of life, represented in his desire for organic farming and diet. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and had a love of traveling. Kenneth was active in his community and church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Opal, nee Koch, Juenger; his son, Gary R.W. Juenger; his parents, Conrad and Bertha, nee Schickedanz, Juenger and in-laws, Bertha and Henry Koch; a brother, Floyd Juenger and brothers-in-law, Warren Koch and William Vandiver; sisters-in-law, Norma and Ann Juenger.
Surviving are his loving daughter, Gail J. Taylor of Belleville, Ill.; his brother, Raymond Juenger of Belleville, Ill.; sisters-in-law, June Vandiver and Arlene Koch; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials may be made to (PSP) Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Pastor Nancy Schubert officiating. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
