Not sure what to say?

For forty years, Ken called me on my birthday, August 1st, the day before his own on Aug. 2nd. Last summer he did not call and I waited for him to ring with an explanation of some sort. When the new year came and I had not heard from him, I was troubled and I searched but couldn't find his number. Finally I tried Googling his entire name and up popped this obituary.
My heart is broken.
My love goes out to all his family and especially to his son, Evan.
Evan, Ken spoke to me...

I am so saddened by this news. Unfortunately, I did not know that Ken was ill. He fitted me for my first pair of contact lenses when I was twelve. In recent years we would bump into each other at Whole Foods. Ken, may there be an endless supply of wine in heaven. RIP. Bernadette Haase
