Dec 29, 1963 – Jun 26, 2021 (Age 57)
Age 57, of Penn Hills, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 26, 2021. He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 23 years, Amy L. (Fabiszewski) Lander; loving father of Kenneth B. and Joseph A. Lander. He was the oldest son of Kenneth W. Lander, Sr. and Rita (Price) Lander; brother of Karen and Keith (Tracy) Lander; uncle of Katie and Zach Lander and Jeremy and Jacob Maiers. Ken was a 26 year member of the Penn Hills #7 Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a Firefighter, 1st and 2nd Lieutenant and Captain. Ken was a loyal friend to many and always gave of himself and would drop anything to help a friend. He was a golfer, which his son would say he does not count all of his strokes. He was an avid fisherman and a diehard Steeler fan. There was nothing that Ken could not fix or build. He will be remembered for the way he always made everyone feel welcomed and his laughter will be missed. As in his son, Joey's, words: "My Dad was an everyday hero and we were blessed to have him." Family and friends are welcomed at the WALTER J. ZALEWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 216 44th Street, Lawrenceville, on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 1-8 p.m. with a Fireman's Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish, St. John the Baptist Church (Plum), on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be private.

Ken was a good friend. I'll miss his messages. I'll especially miss his " hey UNC", every time I would see him or drop by the house.

Dear Amy and Joey, There are no words that can express how sorry we are for your loss. Ken was an extremely good man who loved you with all his heart. Now he will be looking over you with your mom and dad and Joeys grandparents. Him leaving this earth is a great loss but Gods great gain. His precious memories will live forever in your hearts. He will always be walking with you thru life. God Bless You through this tragic time. Love Dave and Kim McNeill
