I am so saddened to just learn of Dr. Keeper´s passing several years ago. I was one of his fellows at UT Memphis. He had such a positive impact on me during my training and is probably the reason I chose Pulmonary/Critical Care as my career path. He was, as many have stated, a wonderfully talented and caring clinician and excellent teacher. Some of my fondest memories of him, though, are hearing him laugh and tell stories during social outings and conferences. He was always such a joy to be...

Kenneth Leeper (I was privileged to call him Kenny) was a great gentleman, physician, teacher, researcher and athlete. He had it all. His enthusiasm was boundless. He was fun to work with, and a type A+ personality.
Ken was taught by his father to produce only high quality work. When in high school, his father asked him to build a brick wall. When finished, his father told him it was not good enough, and knocked it down. Ken had to work all night to build it properly.

Dr. Leeper was such a GREAT physician, he made you feel so comfortable with him not only as your physician but as he was a part of our family. He took such great care of my 74 year old mother when he diagnosed her with lung cancer. He often came and sat with her/us in her hospital room just to chit chat and sometimes eat lunch with us. I have been in the medical field for over 33 years, worked with numerous physicians (can't even begin to count) but I have never in my entire life met a...
