Kenneth W. Maki Farrar Funeral Home Farmerville, LA Funeral services for Kenneth W. Maki, 84, will be held at 10:00am Friday, March 18, 2016 at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Bro. Cullen Smith and Elder Ray Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Marion under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Mr. Maki, a horticulturist, went to his heavenly home March 15, 2016. He was born in Washington, but was a resident of Marion, LA and a member of Fairview Church of Christ in Marion. A retired extension agent from the L.S.U. Agriculture Center, Ken taught landscaping and master gardening classes. He answered the region's gardening questions, whether on the news, radio, newspaper, or door to door. He adored his 4 girls and his wife, and was a perfect example of a Christian husband and daddy. His grandkids were the joy of his life. The ever smiling Ken Maki's mission was to lift the spirits of others with a smile and friendly attitude. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Margaret Maki; his wife of 59 years, Alexa Gayle Maki; and sister, Joyce Marie Maki. Left to cherish his memory are 4 daughters: Kim Mosley & husband Dwayne of Marion, Tammy Hayes & husband David of Marion, Jill Boling & husband Lance of Huttig, AR, and Alexa Chance & husband, Allen of Monroe; 2 brothers: Leroy Maki of Laramie, WY and Lenard Maki & wife Judy of Corvallis, OR; 8 grandchildren: Mindy Mosley, Brandon Mosley, Alicia Craighead, Crissy Castle & husband Oliver, Kenneth Maki Boling & wife Mandy, Anisa Gilliam & husband Troy, Angel Boling and Ally Chance; 6 great grandchildren: Brooklyn Craighead, Lincoln Craighead, Haven Castle, Amelia Castle, McKenzie Boling and Mattie Lynn Boling. Pallbearers will be Kenny Boling, Brandon Mosley, Mike Tynes, Larry Bennett Taylor, Wayne Feazel, and Gerald Walker. Visitation is 5-8pm Thursday at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
