McNAMARA, Kenneth Scott, 51, of Glen Allen, Va. Kenny lost his courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Palliative Care Unit of the VCU/MCV Hospital, surrounded by his family. Kenny leaves to cherish his memory two children, his son, Jason Scott McNamara and his wife, Carrie; and his daughter, Jessica Rae McNamara; his mother, Betty Foster McNamara; his brothers, Michael D. McNamara and Russell P. McNamara; and sister-in-law, Susan; his sister, Linda M. Duke; and brother-in-law, Tommy; nephews, Robert J. Duke and Russell A. McNamara; nieces, K. Brooke and Morgan L. McNamara; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred J. McNamara. Kenny loved the Outer Banks, especially Oregon Inlet, for fishing or just sitting at the edge of the shore and watching the world go by. His artistic talent was only exceeded by his great love of music. Now he is gone. Much too soon. We will miss him, but with a smile! The family will receive friends at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2008 and where a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, September 29, beginning at 2 p.m. Inurnment to follow at Westhampton Memorial Park. The family wishes to give thanks to all the very special members of the Thomas Palliative Care Unit at the VCU/MCV Hospital who helped Kenny and his family cherish his last days. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the MCC-Thomas Palliative Care General Fund at VCU/MCV Medical Center, P.O. Box 980214, Richmond, Va. 23298-0214 or to Massey Cancer Center, General Cancer Research-Pancreatic Fund at the above address.

Not sure what to say?

Susan,
I dont know if you remember me but you were very helpful to me when I was at Hometown then as Laura Robinson, now Fields. Kenny wallpapered our daughters room and did a great job, and was so likeable. I was shocked to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Ace I will always remember the good times . Will miss seeing you on the island . God keep your family safe .

Linda,
I know that you will miss him terribly. I hope the time that you spent with him in your home and the many hours of conversation shared between the two of you will somehow comfort you through your loss. It was such a selfless, compassionate act of love to care for and comfort your brother the last months of his life. You go Sister Girl!!
Love Connie

Betty,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
