Kenneth Montanari Obituary

Kenneth (Ken) Joseph Montanari, age 88, dedicated father, husband, grandfather, and friend to many died peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on October 7, 2025. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick Montanari and Mary (Novak) Montanari, his wife, Ann (Tallo) Montanari, and his brother, Fred Montanari.

Ken's life was marked by his devotion to family and traditions, his intellect and work ethic, and his faith. Ken had a love and passion for the University of Pittsburgh football team and the game of golf. He was a long-time member of the Sacred Heart and St Anthony of Padua Catholic Churches.

Ken was born on September 3, 1937 in Renton, PA and moved with his family to 333 Francis Rd in Pittsburgh, PA at the age of 3. Ken attended Plum High School where he was an excellent student and accomplished athlete. He lettered in football, basketball, and golf and graduated at the top of his class. Ken attended the University of Pittsburgh on a full football scholarship, where he lettered in football for three years and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. While in college, Ken met Ann, and they were married on May 28, 1960

Upon Graduation, Ken took a job as a project engineer with Pittsburgh Plate Glass which took him to Italy. He returned to Pittsburgh in 1964 and joined the Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1965. Ken's career with Westinghouse took him to Chicago IL, Buffalo NY, Bristol VA, Houston TX, Olathe KS, Fullerton CA and Atlanta GA. Ken left Westinghouse in 1995 and joined Square D/Schneider Electric and moved to Dallas TX. In 2005 Ken made his last move to Conroe TX where he retired in 2005.

Ken was married to Ann for 46 years, they were the proud parents of sons Mike Montanari (Rebecca), Joe Montanari (Amy) and Patrick Montanari (Claudia); and cherished grandchildren Zach Montanari, Sam Montanari, Anna Montanari, Madison Montanari, Maret Montanari Quinn, Justin Montanari, and Gabriel Montanari. After Ann's passing, Ken married Christina (Minieri) Montanari, they enjoyed a wonderful 17 years together.

Ken had many accomplishments and highlights in his life; among them are his being named Co-Captain of the University of Pittsburgh Panthers 1959 Football Team, selection as a 1959 NCAA Football Honorable Mention All-American, induction into the Plum High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and the Allegheny-Kiski Valley Sports Hall of Fame. Ken was able to fulfill his dream of belonging to a golf country club when the family moved into River Plantation in 1973. He passed along his love of the game of golf to Ann and his sons, and they enjoyed many great times and accomplishments on the golf course.

A visitation for Ken will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM 801 at Cashner Funeral Home with a reception to follow.

The family would like to thank Synergy HomeCare and Devotion Hospice for the love and care provided to Ken at the end of his earthly journey.
