Kenneth Lee Nance, 79, of Huntington, died Sunday, December 24, 2006 in Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with the Rev. Ronald Burnsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born February 18, 1927 in Huntington, a son of the late Charles and Rosa Davis Nance. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis White Nance; one brother, Carl Nance and one sister, Gladys Waddell. He was a retired salesman for S.S. Logan Packing Co. and a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Navy. He was a member of the Highlawn Baptist Church, the VFW Post 1064, the American Legion Post 16 and the Elks 313. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Robby Fyffe of Huntington; one son, Charles “Barney” Nance of Huntington; three granddaughters, Ashley Nance of Huntington, Meghan Fyffe of Charleston, WV, and Emily Nance of Charleston, SC; one brother and sister-in-law, C.V. and Barbara Nance of Salisbury, NC and one sister-in-law, Janice Hunter of Edgewater, FL and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Beard Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Online condolences may be sent at www.beardfuneralhome.com.
