Not sure what to say?

We were both ~19-ish at WAFB, I the secretary and he the one-stripe Airman in his fatigues -- how cute that he never learned to drive -- he used to hitchhike from the base sometimes to the little bench across from my apartment on Williams Fld Rd and we would walk downtown to the Chinese Restaurant that is probably still there -- drinking just green tea (probably all he could afford) -- and he would hitch a ride back to the barracks from the little bench that was there for people to give rides...

Randomly learned of Ken's death just today, Jan 2, 2025. Ken was my painting instructor in two separate classes at CSU in 1997 and 1998. I absolutely feared him upon meeting him, and then realized what an amazing soul he was. I learned a lot from him, and those days in the Art Building on Chester were really memorable. He had a way with teaching and bringing people together. I always remember our classes having lots of cohesion. AND this was when you could smoke IN the building! Those...

I truely loved him! Bobbie

how has a year gone by since Ken passed away? but memories do not leave us - and for those of us who had treasured times with Ken, we can keep him alive in our thoughts such as when he helped bandage a serious slice in one of my thumbs, when cutting a mat in class went awry ever the gentle, gruff instructor to seeing him again, in the resurrection - hoping he and I can paint side by side in the promised "new earth" Mary Lynne Safko, formerly Ehrbar, a student of his at CSU in the 70's

Ken was my friend when i was a painting drawing and printmaking student at csu . He always had good remarks about our work to push us further. I was also the gallery assistant there si i practically lived there in the art bld. I saw him often at Starbucks after graduating and working as a full time fine art instructor at cudell. I loved his smile.

RIP Ken. You were a surly, mysterious, passionate, and funny man, teacher, and artist. I was a student of Ken's at CSU during the 1980's. Then last time I saw Ken was for a few drinks at the Tik Tok Tavern with a mutual friend. Both Ken's work and methods to creating were very inspirational and influential to me. He will be missed.

Ken was my painting teacher at CSU in the seventies - always challenged us to do our best - I loved his gruff "overcoating"of the tender person inside - his obit brought me to tears today. But knowing that I will see him again when he is resurrected to life - now that brings a genuine smile to this saddened face! Mary Lynne Safko nee Ehrbar

I was a art student of Ken's. I was sad when I came across this obit. He was certainly a great teacher & I admired his paintings. His technical prowess in painting was exceptional. I can't say enough... but Great Guy. My condolences to the family.

I was heartbroken to hear of his passing, when I lived in Cleveland we were good friends and I was blessed to have been gifted one of his paintings. He was a talented artist and a kind man with a great sense of humor.. I always teased him and said he looked like Sean Connery and he blushed every time. He will be greatly missed. RIP my dear friend ..
