Kenneth Ralph Newsom, Sr.

Kenneth Ralph "Big Kenny" Newsom, Sr., 63, of Blanchard, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

Kenny was born on September 30, 1951 in Shaw, Mississippi to the late John Burl and Mary Irene (Henderson) Newsom. He worked for BJ's Oil Field Construction for many years. Kenny enjoyed doing projects with his son, "Little Kenny", going hunting, cooking out making sure all were fed, and hanging out with his neighbors and friends having a good time. His pride and joy in life were his grandkids and watching them play and ride the four wheelers. Kenny had a smile that could light up a room, and a laugh you couldn't forget. He gave of himself unselfishly, always putting others before himself and making sure their needs were met. He treated all like they were his own.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Newsom; grandson, Jeffrey Poe; and the mother of his children, Paula Paradise.

He is survived by his son, Kenny Newsom and wife Anna of Dibble; his daughter, Tennessa Popejoy and husband Joe of California; his brothers, J.B. Newsom and wife Kay, and "Red" Travis Newsom and wife Glenda all of Dibble; his sisters, Bonnie Carillo and husband Tony of Wilburton, Freddie Wooten Faulk and husband Ben of Purcell, Willie Jo McCall and husband Steve of Tennessee, Dell Taubert of Wichita Falls, TX, and Linda Newsom of Blanchard; his grandchildren, Jessica Allen and husband Patrick, Brittany Johnson, Bridget Popejoy, Trent Popejoy, Ryan Popejoy, Mikayla Popejoy, and Joey Popejoy, Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Kingston Scott and Akira; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard with Pastor Lewis Cox, officiating. Interment will follow at Blanchard Cemetery.
