Not sure what to say?

Dear Shirley and Family, Ken will always have a special place in our hearts. His ready smile whenever we saw him, and the twinkle in his eye. To us Shirley, you and Ken have always been a great couple and good friends. Kens funeral was so very touching. There was laughter and tears as people remembered this fine man. It was nice to see all of you, and talk to Barry too. Our love and deepest sympathy to all of you. Love and Hugs, John and Betty

Dear Shirley and Family,
I want to join your many family and friends in expressing our deep shared loss in the passing of Piker, but also the great joy we all have in having shared this life with him and knowing that he is in the loving arms of his heavenly father.

Your whole family, led by Ken, has and continues to mean a great deal to me (even if we had never been cousins). My earliest memories are visiting you and Great Aunt and Uncle Annie and Ed in Carlton, crawling...

Dear Shirley & the Nyquist Family
When we first came to Carlton in 1949, the Nyquist family was the first ones to welcome us. I can remember wonderful vacations together at Velvet Beach at Brainerd, at Whispering Pines at McGregor and working with Piker and his Dad in the VFW, He was a Great man and friend thru the years . It was a great honor to be named as a Honorary Pallbearer altho I was unable to attend the funeral. He will be greatly missed.Love to you all--- Kermit

Dear Shirley and Family,

We were sad to hear of Ken's passing. He was a good man. My dad spoke of him often, and now they are sharing the joy of heaven together in the presence of Jesus.

What a comfort to know that one day God will wipe all the tears away from our eyes and there will no longer be any death, no more sorrow, nor more crying and no more pain.

Our love to you.

Gary and Sher Nyquist

Dear Shirley and family:
My thoughts are with you in your loss. Mr. Nyquist (He will always be Mr. Nyquist to me.) was truly one of the special people in this world. He was a true gentleman and I would go so far as to say, a legend in his time.
Working with him on the Carlton School Board was a great experience. He was always professional, fair and caring. His dedication to the school district was always at the forefront of any decision he made, and others relied on his...

DEAR SHIRLEY & FAMILY,
I WAS SO SAD TO HEAR ABOUT KENNY
"PIKER". THE GIRLS HAD TOLD ME AT
JOYCE'S FUNERAL THAT HE WASN'T
DOING VERY WELL. WE HAD A LOT OF
GOOD TIMES UP AT THE LAKE AND NOW
3 OF THEM ARE GONE. BILLY, JOYCE
AND KENNY ARE PROBABLY "UPSTAIRS"
PLAYING PULL TABS AND HAVING A BEER!
A BIG HUG TO YOU, SHIRLEY AND TO THE
GIRLS - THEY ALL ARE WONDERFUL.
TAKE CARE.
LOVE, DOROTHY

Dear Shirley and Family,
Part of me is so sad knowing Piker is gone from your lives... but another part of me is so comforted knowing you still have him in your everyday lives... in memory and by his strong importance throughout the years, that has molded you all into such a strong, tight and loving family.

I absolutely loved watching you (Shirley) interact with your husband (Piker) while I was at your home all those days painting. You both had a wonderful routine; but it was...

To the Nyquist family, I offer condolences on your loss. He was a friendly man with a big heart who always had a smile and warm words. God bless you all.

I was greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Kenny (pike) Nyquist and he will be greatly missed. He was a very good friend. I remember the time i went bowling at Carlton, My thumb stuck in the hole and the ball went sailing up and almost hit the light fixture. It came down and I thought it would make a hole in the alley. Kenny just hunched his shoulders and held his breath as the ball hit. thank goodness there was no damage. I was extremely proud to be able to help get Kenny...
