Not sure what to say?

I have so many memories of my dear Uncle but I think this one shows the man he was. In the early 70’s there was a really bad rain storm and our house began flooding. The water was coming up fast and my mom called my Uncle. I was outside on the porch and through the darkness a million lights came around the corner. They were unable to drive to the house but he and the family had piled into the car gotten as far as they could and come the rest of the way by foot with flashlights to light...

Marilyn,
Oh my gosh Vernon is Ken's dad. He did play in a band. I understand grandpa was an amazing musician. Our family is thrilled to hear your story.
Blessings to you,
Laura (daughter)

What a great guy and mentor to me. I really enjoyed the time we worked together and credit him with my success in the electrical business. I truly remember him always saying "smile every chance you get". He also used to say at the end of the day when I said "see you tomorrow" when I left his house from our car pool "Lord willing and the creek don't rise" I still say that to this day. I enjoyed talking with him through his retirement via the phone but of course never enough calls were made. I...

My dad, Bernie Russell, of Oak Park, IL, had a small band in the 40's, 50's, 60's. One of the band members was Vern Obrock. They played at my wedding in 1964 and I have some photos of them. I don't know if your Vernon was the same person but I recognized the name. I am sorry for your loss.

The family would like to thank everybody for all the loving support. We are at peace knowing Dad is no longer suffering. We love that he lived life to the fullest.
We are in hopes that we could celebrate Dad with a fun party once we're all able to gather again.
God is Goodood and remember to smile every chance you get.

My dad's family would like to thank everybody for the kind and caring support. We are at peace knowing he is no longer suffering. Dad lived life to the fullest. 48 years with his wife Dean and it was a love story.
God is good!
SMILE EVERY CHANCE YOU GET!
