I was sorry to hear of his death and surprised when I read it. He seemed younger than his years physically and in terms of vitality.
We are less because of his departure physically. His spirit will not be hidden nor will it be silent!

I remember Bishop Olson well. We worked together to help get Habitat houses built in South Africa. Thanks to his leadership, over 200 people in South Africa have a safe and decent place to live.

"Pastor Olsen" confirmed me at age 15 in 1967, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aurora. His kind and patient instruction (catechism was for 3 years in those days) helped me to understand the trinity and all things Lutheran. He was my first and beloved teacher in the Lutheran faith that I have loved lo, these many years. Each and every graveside service, at which I was privileged to preside, I closed with these words of comfort: "The best gifts we give and receive are our fondest memories shared." Indeed, we will all tell our stories of Ken's friendship---his kindness and goodness---as only we can tell them!
