Chambers Funeral Homes - Cleveland Obituary

KENNETH J. "KENNY" OTTO, age 70, of Vermilion, Ohio, passed away February 8, 2019. Kenny was most proud of the time he served in the U.S. Navy. You could always find Kenny in his plaid shirt and jeans working on a new project for his country home or yard. He had a soft spot for God's creatures, keeping the bird feeders filled and taking in a few stray kittens, the latest named "Tabby".  Kenneth was born on December 30, 1948, to the late Wilfred and Margaret Otto. Beloved brother of Karen Edwards (Scott), Raymond and Peggy McDonald. Loving uncle to Matthew, Ryan, Sarah, Sandra and Laureen, great uncle of six and was a dear friend of Margie Walter and her children, Cheryl and Peter.  Funeral Mass to be announced. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Cleveland APL 1729 Wiley Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44113.

Not sure what to say?

What a beautiful tribute, Matt. Ken worked at Union Carbide with my sister. Ken's supervisor did not approve many expenses. Ken asked for an industrial ladder, 20 plus years ago the cost was $400. His boss did not approve it at first. Needless to say, Ken secured the ladder!

Ken built a play house for my daughter, Sarah.
He constructed it at his home and assembled it in our back yard. Sarah was the envy of the neighborhood.

Matt, you, your Mother and Ryan are in my...

Sure glad that Kenny got to go to Nashville with some friends had a lot of fun . Will miss him going with us again. He up there singing his heart out and having a great time. Miss you dearly love Sandy Taylor Baker

My condolences to the Otto family for their loss. Please remember all the special times that you had to keep him in your memory.

Ken and I spent many an afternoon at local auctions, flea markets and estate sales looking for yard art or some collectible that we just had to have. He knew his antiques and was quick to spot a bargain whether it was an old phone or a well pump. He was quite the craftsman and I admired his woodworking skill, he could make anything. He was always willing to help with a project and was just a phone call away. Most of all Ken was a kind, caring person who showed compassion to someone who may be...

He was a "handyman", always working on some project...I loved that about him. I was lucky enough to spend some time with my brother-in-law before he went to join his family with God. He had his way of doing things, but he considered other possibilities when they seemed logical to him. He had a "dry" wit about him and some good one-liners. Just make sure his "remote was working properly... God Bless you, Ken. Love, Scott
