Kenneth P. Blom “Ken” 59 of Scotch Plains died on Sunday April 4 2021.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on April 12, 2021, 10am at St Bartholomew the Apostle Church in Scotch Plains. A visitation will be held from 2pm-6pm on Sunday April 11, 2021 at the Rossi Funeral Home 1937 Westfield Avenue Scotch Plains.


  Ken was born in Jackson Heights, NY, moved to Fanwood, NJ in 1973 with his family and settled to Scotch Plains in 1988. Growing up in Fanwood, Kenny played FYO Baseball. He was a 1980 graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School and was a member of the Bowling Team. Ken also attended Union County VoTech for automotive mechanics.


  Ken worked as an auto mechanic with Green Brook Chevrolet and Tire Associates in Green Brook. Ken than went on to work for Steve’s towing & repair in Fanwood as a tow truck driver. The past 20 years Ken had worked with the Fanwood Department of Public Works most recently as an Assistant Foreman.  Ken loved boating, fishing, demolition derby and tow truck drag racing in Englishtown, NJ.  Most of all Ken loved spending time with all of his family especially at Woodcliff Park.


  Ken is predeceased by his mother Sheila Ann Blom, ’19.  Ken is survived by his Beloved Wife of 32 years Lisa A. ( nee Urciuoli), Loving daughters Kelly and Rachel and fiancé Dennis Schmeiler. Loving Father Albert J. Blom.  Cherished granddaughter Anastasia. Caring siblings Chris and wife Kathy, Stacy A. Blaes and husband Bob, Coleen A. Benwell and husband Rob, Terry A Cardenas and husband Dave. Sister in Law Paula Green and brother in law Richard Urciuoli and wife Kathy.  Ken is also survived by 10 cherished Nieces and Nephews.

I am so sorry your loss. Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of your family during this very sad & difficult time. Hoping your memories bring you comfort and peace as you come to terms with his loss.

Our deepest condolences on your loss. Many would be the time when Ken would be out plowing when I would be out shoveling at some awful hour of the morning, and he always had a good word and ear scratch for our dog. He will truly be missed.
