Sorry so late, but just saw this! I was a young girl of about 13 when I came under Dr. Karilitz care at LI Jewish Hospital! At the time he had a young resident, Kenneth Guy Paltrow, who spent many days at my bedside, speaking to me about many things, and encouraging me to be positive. Without the time and energy he spent with me, I doubt I would have survived, and gone on to live a normal life. Several years ago I connected with him through a letter, thanking him for all he had done! He...

Im just now seeing this and my heart goes out to Susan, and all family members. Dr. Paltrow generously helped me negotiate a very difficult period in my life. Having access to consistent access to medication is a gift that allowed me to consistently avail myself to opportunities that gradually improved my circumstances. It was an extraordinary gesture from a man who had great empathy for his patients. The world lost an exceptional psychiatrist, interesting and interested student of life...

I met Dr. Paltrow and Susan as they were patients at a dental practice I worked with. Over my 13 years at that practice and seeing them roughly every 6 months I got to know them both and they were such wonderful people. I especially enjoyed connecting with Ken and we stayed in touch even after I left that practice when the dentist retired. Ken had an amazing ability to understand people using the many various wonderful techniques he had in his tool kit. If you knew can you know exactly what I...

A terrible loss to humanity. I'm sure he is one one the bright stars in the heavens. Kind and brilliant........ Judith Richmond

Kenneth saved lives in his career as a mental health provider. I know this from a collegial interaction we had. He was remarkably talented with his craft, so in tune with his subjects and interacting with him simply made one more intelligent. He challenged those around him to be better without even realizing it, and left an indelible mark on my mind. Thank you to his loving wife and family for sharing him, and often sparing him long hours. It was such a pleasure knowing him.

I am so very saddened by the news of Ken´s loss. He helped many of my patients over two generations and I will remember his kindness, intuitiveness and understanding and so many treatment successes. Paul Puziss MD
