Reading Mr. Levenstam's message I was amused that he had exactly the same memory of Professor Perry that I did. Many times he would come into class and write "RTP" in big bold letters on the chalkboard. Read The Problem. I talked to Professor Perry probably 10 years after I graduated in 1980 and he still knew my name and remembered me. A truly great professor and human being.

I had Professor Perry my senior year at University of Illinois in 1981 and 1982 for Consolidations and the CPA review. He had more energy at 8 AM than all of us undergrads combined. He was intense and amusing, and I have for decades shared with my own students some of the wisdom I learned from him.
