Not sure what to say?

Rob and Dan,
Ken was my favorite cousin and as we grew up together, my brother. His death was a great loss and yet representative of how he lived his life, helping others. Judy and my prayers are with you both and thanking God for letting Ken be with us for as long as he was. I will miss kidding with him and pulling his leg, as best I could. The things that are important in life are not things! They are the love, care and concern for others that Ken, and you Rob have given to the...

Dearest Rob,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting you both as a young UAA student while cavorting with Bacchus during the early 90's UAA theatre tour of Italy. Your effervescent love and joi d'vivre made a lasting impression, to say the least. I still have the kitty card you bought me in my scrapbook of the trip. With a very heavy heart, I wish you peace and comfort during this transition. Ken will be missed terribly, but his accomplishments, both alone and...

Rob-Ken is still a part of you as you were a part of Ken. You two exemplify the good and humorous in this world which we all need. Our children: Heather and Sam both felt the touch of his compassion as a pediatrician. We are all better because of him. We love you, Tom and Ruth Nighswander-call when you're back.

Dear Dr. Burgess, I received a call tonight with news of Dr. Petersen's passing. As a young nurse @ ANMC in 1972 on 3 east, I came to know and respect the physician we all came to call "Dr. Ken". Suzanne Ashworth R.N.(Figley) and I worked the night shift; Dr. Petersen never failed to respond to a call in the middle of the night and it wasn't uncommon for him to sit with us and rock babies. He truly cared for his patients, families and co-workers. Our hearts are with you.

Rob, my condolences and hearltfelt prayers be with at the death of Ken. I will miss seeing him at Holden Village for the LCNA retreats where I met you both. May God hold you in God's strong embrace in this time of grief.
Your friend,

Rev. Craig Minich

Dear Rob, I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Petersen. My heart, and prayers go out to you and his family. I have known him when he first moved here to Anchorage and he was my children's doctor for many years. I have a lot of fond memories from the "old" hospital and what a caring, loving person he was to me and my children. I remember that he used to come looking for you at the CHAP Office and he always had a smile. What can I say? but, Rob, take care of yourself; You say your aunts told you...

Dear Rob,
We all feel disbelief, sorrow and certainty that a life could not be better lived than Ken's. Your commitment to one another, and to the greater good, stands as an example for us. Thank you both for sharing love, friendship and music.

I was deeply saddened to hear of ken's death, rob. i realize i hadn't seen either of you in many years, but the news hit me deep in my heart nonetheless. my heart goes out to you.

Dear Rob,
It is difficult to tell you how deeply I feel about Ken's untimely death. I picture this last act of removing a hazard on the road as a metaphor of his life. I began working with Ken at ANMC Pediatric Clinic in 1992. He at once revealed more than his professional knowlege, and experience . He was not selfish in sharing wisdom and insights that were frequently peppered with an ascerbic wit. He left a mark on this world.
With Sympathy,
Marie Ronholdt (Schnyder)
