Ken has been an enormous inspiration in my life. He’s been there leading the way through the grief of funerals, and the joy of weddings. But more than that, it was in life’s “ordinary” moments where he most shined. Ken possessed a compassion mixed with a sense of humor that always made me feel like everything would be okay. I will be forever thankful that I knew Rev. Ken Powell. Never will I forget his calmness and sincerity when he was needed at trying times, his genuine questions at any old time, and his smile~ always pure, always pensive.

Ken married us 26 years ago. Neither my husband nor I were members of his congregation but he treated us with the same counseling and love in our marriage preparation as if we were. I have never forgotten some of the thoughts he expressed in the homily of the wedding ceremony--images that have stayed with me all these years. I regret I wasn't able to tell him this myself before he died. But we will never, ever forget him and he will stay in our prayers always. Paula and Dale

You are all in my heart and prayers. I will always remember the "blueberry" homily that Ken gave at Amy and Monty's wedding. I met Reverend Powell as a five-year old when he first came to Pilgrim Church. As I grew, I came to realize more and more what a rare and special man he is. His kindness and sense of humor made church a fun and inviting place. My wife, Amy, and I were lucky enough to have Ken give the homily at our wedding (and then to watch him dance the night away). He will live in our hearts always. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

We had the pleasure of meeting Ken at Damien and Abby's wedding and we were immediately taken back. He was such a kind and caring person who truly wanted to know each and everyone of Damien and Abby's friends. We were blessed to have met him. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

The impact on our lives and the lives of our 4 children is a blessing beyond measurement. Ken was one of the most important leaders of our church community and in the greater community throughout New England.
May we all continue to live by his example and walk in his path with the grace of God.

We are blessed to have known Ken and to be counseled and married by him last fall. I was 'hatched' in junior high youth group, and when it came time for the biggest act of faith in our lives, there was no one more appropriate to lead us through. Ken even let our puppy sit in during our counseling sessions. Ken will be missed but his lessons will be with us forever.
