I first met Ken Shandy when I became an assistant principal at JC Jr. High School in 1969. I worked with Ken for 4 years and then went out to Fort Riley Jr. High School as principal for 17 years. It was a privilege to know and work with Ken, both as a colleague and a good friend. He was a fine school administrator and a valued mentor. USD #475 owes him a debt of gratitude for the years he spent in the various administrative capacities.
