Kenneth Wade Smith HASKELL-Kenneth Wade Smith, 76, of Haskell, Texas, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be held in New Home, Texas, at the First Baptist Church of New Home on May 14, 2016, at 2 p.m. Kenneth was born on June 4, 1939, to Aubrey Lanceford Smith and Thelma Pauline (Shadden) Smith. He lived in New Home, Texas for 60 years then moved to Haskell, Texas. He was a cotton farmer, build model airplanes and an accomplishing rifleman in school. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Lanceford Smith and Thelma Pauline (Shadden) Smith; and wife Sharon Smith. Kenneth is survived by his two daughters, Michele Slavin and husband Ed of Plano, Texas, and Kimberly Scott and husband Bob of Minneapolis, Minn.; son, Kendal Smith and wife Audrey of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren, Taylor Chapman, Aubrey Slavin, Connor Slavin, Lan Scott, Hannah Scott, Julia Scott and Jacob Smith; one great-grandchild, Gage Chapman; sister, Kay Brown and husband Larry of Amarillo, Texas; nephew, Shon Brown and Joan of Keller, Texas; niece, Kristal Mooneyham and husband Darren of Amarillo.
