Ken Sneed was born August 3, 1935 in New Orleans, La. to Robert Taylor Sneed and Margaret Geraldine Trotter Sneed.   He moved to Galveston as a young child where he grew up and graduated from Kirwin High School.  Ken joined the Air Force on August 19, 1957 and served his country proudly for 25 years, serving in Vietnam, and retiring as a SMSGT in 1982.  He married the love of his life, Jo Ann Gernand on Aug. 31, 1963, and they recently celebrated their 55 year anniversary.  They welcomed two daughters who he cherished dearly.

During retirement Ken pursued his love of cars by working as a service advisor at several dealerships and restoring and showing corvairs.  He was an avid bowler, golfer, car enthusiast, a Dallas Cowboys fan, and proud grandpa to four beautiful grandchildren.  Ken was a quiet, gentle man of faith, a believer and follower of Jesus.  He was a member of the Protestant Chapel at NAS-JR Fort Worth.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Bette Gernand; and father and mother-in-law, Fred and Caroline Gernand.
