Kenneth M. Stern, 77, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born in Minneapolis on August 18, 1946 to Kenneth and Allene Stern.  Ken grew up in Brooklyn Center.  Ken worked and retired from the MN DNR and had worked at Jay Cooke State Park, Moose Lake State Park, and for over 20 years at St. Croix State Park.  He was also a Union Steward for the AFL-CIO.  He liked riding his Harley, gardening roses, going to concerts and always looked forward to his yearly attendance at Blues Fest in Duluth with family and friends.  His greatest love was his family and being a Dad and Grandpa.  


Ken was preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth and Allene Stern and two brothers: Keith Stern and Jeff Stern.


Kenneth will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years: Christine; five children: Joshua Stern; Sarah Stern; Bethany (Jason) Nelson; Benjamin Stern; and Laura Stern; 3 grandchildren: Magdalena, Coralee, and Josephine; four brothers: Randy (Robin) Stern; Joel Stern; David (Manon) Stern; and Duane (Stephanie) Stern; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10 am until the 11 am service on Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.  Lunch will follow the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment with Military Honors will be at 3 pm Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, 4777 Hwy 53 | Saginaw, MN 55779.  Please be at the cemetery by 2:45 pm.
