Was honored to serve with Doctor Swan at the 71st Evacuation Hospital in Vietnam.

A Giant on the Earth.

Many years ago, I saw Dr. Swan on a 60 Minutes segment which described, despite much criticism, how he saved a wounded soldier (VietNam) with multiple and severe injuries. That man went on to live a happy and productive life. Dr. Swan's humanity had a profound impact on me and I have never forgotten that story. Indeed, the world could use more good men like Dr. Swan; those who place such high regard for their fellow man. God bless and keep you, Dr. Swan....

An extraordinary man, a life of service and a very best friend.

I had the privilege of being Dr. Swan's Administrative Secretary for 5 years. Words cannot express how much I learned from him during that time. I was always in awe of how many lives he saved on a daily basis; how one patient after showing no life signs remembered hearing someone yell "Get Swan, Get Swan!", who was the greatest aorta sewing surgeon on this planet.
