Ken Swanson, 71, of the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Napa, California, and Ironwood, Michigan, passed away June 11, 2018. Beloved brother of Michael (Jacqueline) Swanson, Sharon (James) Tregembo, and Carol (Ben) Barreras. Cherished uncle of 5, cousin to many, and friend to countless others. Ken was a longtime wine, travel, Michigan State, Bears and Cubs enthusiast. He also served in the United States Marine Corps. Ken retired from CNA after working for numerous years. A memorial celebration of his life is being planned for a future date. Chicagoland Cremation Options to handle all arrangements.

I thought is was unusual that I didn't get my annual Christmas card from Ken where we each promised that we would get together again this year. I met Ken in the 80's when we both worked at CNA. I felt so fortunate that somehow he thought that we would be great friends. I've stayed with Ken in Chicago, New York City, and Napa. The last time I saw him was in Napa. We ate at the French Laundry, biked the vineyards, and of course toured the wineries. When he moved back to Chicago we each...

I just found out of Ken's passing. I last talked to him in May and knowing he would not have let this much time pass without calling, I tried contacting him and realized something had happened. I am devastated to learn of his passing. He was a true friend and co-worker. Some of my favorite times were staying with him in Napa, visiting wineries, and eating some of the best food ever. He always knew the best places to go. He also spent time with my husband and I at our home in Edmonds, WA....
