Not sure what to say?

Ken was an early influence and mentor to me when I first started teaching for AAPS. I never stop smiling when thinking of him, and miss seeing him on the Island from time to time when making a stop there. He made life that much better. You're missed!

I worked for Ken and Judy for 7 years, they were amazing employers and great friends, I rented the upstairs apartment for 3 years and would work my shifts at the restaurant to pay my rent and other billsKen and Judy were generous, kind and very caring people, who would help anyone who needed help They both loved the island and spent the summers doing what they loved most, making everyone happy and would often go above and beyond for customers, Always making everyone feel at home ...

Can't help but smile when I remember Ken's quietly subversive shenanigans at faculty meetings both at Tappan and Clague. Learned not to sit anywhere near him if I wanted to keep my composure. Suspect he's now making folks laugh on the other side and all for the better.

I worked with Ken at Clague. He was hilariously irreverent. That's all I can say in public. I hope his humorous spirit spreads through the ethers so we can all live a little lighter on the planet.

I was fortunate in that Ken was my first teaching partner at Clague Middle School. He was wonderful with the students and did many altruistic gestures behind the scenes. He went out of his way to personally drive a consistently truant young man to school. He bought clothes and personal items for those students who needed them. As a colleague he was kind, supportive and funny. He touched so many lives in so many varied ways. My condolences to his loved ones.

I knew Ken for some 40 years! When they were booted off South Manitou my father and I helped him do a pricing study to get their compensation for his wifes heritage property on South! H later bought the Beachcomber and did many philanthropic things for the island and it's people! Back in the day when he smoked a pipe we would prank him and put a dime under the tobacco which would leave him puffing miserably to try to light the then. It was so hard to keep from laughing when was was doing...

I have fond memories of Ken and his partner in crime, Niel Powers, making us laugh daily during lunch in the teachers' lounge at Clague. The two of them walked into my classroom while I was teaching, walked around the room and exited through another door. There went the day's lesson. What a great guy !

Ken was such a great and fun guy to work with. I remember one day I was teaching a class and he came in with a pair of scissors and cut my tie in half. He will be sorely missed. Mike Alperovitz

I would like to express my condolences to Ken's family. I taught with Ken for many years at Clague Middle School. I enjoyed his friendship as well as respecting him as a colleague. May he Rest In Peace.
