Anyone that knew Ken as a teacher, performer or just friend will always remember his kindness and infectious optimism for life. It came through in everything he did even with the pain he suffered. One time as his student, he mentioned having a weekend wedding at his Church and had, that morning, set up his camper at the Wheeler campground for the weekend. Ken Turvey's spirit will be with me forever--through his teachings and his infectious love of music and community. I will never forget him teaching us to breath through our diaphragm rather than our lungs. It didn't matter if there were 5 or 50 choir members, his approach was the same. He will be missed but his kindness and love of music will live on.

Ken was a great teacher and mentor. We will all miss his energy and love for the church and its music. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
