Kenneth Vellema

Kenneth Vellema, age 47, of Harris, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2007, at his home in Harris. Funeral services will be Thursday. March 29, 2007, at 1:30 P.M. at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan. Rev. John Knoester officiating. Burial in the Union Township Cemetery in Harris, Iowa. Visitation will be at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan on Wednesday, March 28, from 3-9 P.M. with the family present from 7-9 P.M. at the church. Kenneth Wayne Vellema, 47, of Harris, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2007, at his home in Harris. He was born on April 8, 1959, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Henry and Bertha (Walburg) Vellema. Kenny graduated from Hull Western Christian High School in Hull, Iowa, in May of 1977. After graduating from high school Kenny attended Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. Kenny continued to farm and enjoyed his mechanic abilities and the care for animals. Most of all, Kenny loved his son, Mike, more than life itself and was so extremely proud of him, more than words can express. Kenny is survived by his son: Mike Vellema of Sioux Falls, SD, and Mike's mother: Dee Vellema of Lake Park, IA; his ten siblings: Sylvia (Gerald) Bosma of Harris, IA, Adela (Dennis) Daggett of Minneapolis, MN, Carol (Bob) Murphy of Durham, NC, Phyllis (Dennis) Bosma of Ocheyedan, IA, Bob Vellema of Lake Park, IA, Cindy (Lynn) Vande Brake of Sheldon, IA, Janie (Jeff) Vande Griend of Sibley, IA, Donna (E.J.) King of Sioux Falls, SD, Lori (Paul) Kroeze of Orange City, IA, Paul (Phyllis) Vellema of Harris, IA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Dad and Mom, and Grandparents.
