Funeral for Kenneth Ray Vinson, 59, of Decatur will be Thursday, January 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Arthur Talley officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mr. Vinson, who died Monday, January 17, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital, was born October 30, 1951, in Waverley, Tenn., to J.T. Vinson and Georgia Roberts Vinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Myrle Vinson; and one brother, Phillip Vinson.
He is survived by three sons, Jim Vinson, Matthew Vinson and wife, Brandie, and Daniel Vinson and wife, Bethany, all of Decatur; one brother, Keith Vinson; and six sisters, Barbara Smith of Montevallo, Rita Smead of Decatur, Pam Smith of Athens, Cindy Parker of Somerville, Valerie Collins of Decatur and Jackie Dotson of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Jim Vinson, Matthew Vinson and Daniel Vinson, along with Chris Carter, Seth Carter and Justin Smith.
