Not sure what to say?

I started teaching middle school science in Berkeley Heights in 1976. I had an interest in woodworking but never had the opportunity to take shop when I was in HS. I took an adult ed class with Mr. Vliet and he opened my eyes and mind to fine furniture making. In 1980 I moved to VA for a job in a furniture/cabinet making shop. My sincerest condolences to Mr. Vliet's family. Mr. Vliet was my wood shop teacher in 1996 and I have the fondest memories of that class. My friend and I took this class as seniors amongst a heavy load of other AP classes. We were not at all familiar with anything having to do with wood shop, but Mr. Vliet was so patient with us. He helped us build beautiful cherry and maple blanket chests. Mine has survived countless moves and and I still brag about how I made it in wood shop in high school...
