Kenneth R. White, 90, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 surrounded by loving family. He was a lifelong resident of West Springfield, 59 years of which he resided in the house built by him and his father. He was the son of the late Kenneth W. and Grace (Roberts) White and a Navy veteran serving on the USS Yellowstone during the Korean war. Kenneth worked as a telecommunications specialist for New England Telephone for over 40 years, retiring in 1996. In addition to being a talented builder and artist, he was passionate about many things including scuba diving, football, skiing, golf, boating and cars. He owned 22 cars in his lifetime and spent many hours restoring Corvairs. Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of thirty-nine years, Myra J. (McKinney) White who passed in 1997. He leaves two sons and their spouses, Kenneth P. and Maribeth White of Longmeadow, Gary A. and Laura White of Tallahassee, two daughters and their spouses, Kimberly A. and Ronald Dufrane of West Granby, Cindy S. White and Stephanie Quesnel of Agawam, his partner of twenty-three years, Deborah Popp of West Springfield, two sisters, Lillian Bennett of West Springfield, Arlene Garvey of Wilbraham, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7pm. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10am at the West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield.
