Rev. Kenneth B. Wright, a devoted servant of God, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on March 8, 1942, and throughout his life he faithfully lived by the words of Scripture, guiding others with wisdom, compassion, and steadfast faith. He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his gentle spouse, Karen; his daughter, Kimari (Allen); his granddaughter, Keelee; and his great-grandchildren, Joseph and Kimberlee. We rejoice in the assurance that he is now at peace. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on August 22, 2025, at First Baptist Church Gainsboro, Roanoke, VA. The funeral will immediately follow visitation at 12 p.m. Arrangements were provided by Serenity Funeral Home of Roanoke, VA.

Not sure what to say?

My heart goes out to you Mrs. Wright and the family. I am so sad to hear of Paster Wrights passing. He was Mom (Emma),and Aunt Thelma´s cousin, he married me, buried both Mom and Dad and Aunt Thelma. He was there for so many for so long. He was loved as you are. He will be missed forever. God has a good one. May Goodness and Grace follow you. RIP Paster Wright.

Reverend Wright officiated our wedding 37 years ago and we are still going strong today by God's grace and guidance! Reverend Wright's ministry leadership was a true example of a man after God's heart. My family (Whittington/Jones) and I have attended First Baptist Church for as long as I can remember...and under the leadership of Reverend Wright. I fondly remember him baptizing me at the former First Baptist Church location when I was a child. His impact and influence on our family will be...

So sorry for your loss. He was a great man.

Our deepest condolences to The Family. I went to school with Rev Wright and from time to time we talked when I was home in Virginia. Always had a smile and inspireing words to share .

We were very sorry to hear of Reverend Wrights passing. I worked for him years ago when he was director of the Neighbor Hood Youth Corp of Montgomery County. He was a kind Christian man and gave me some good advice for how to live a good life. Our sincere condolences to the immediate and extended family. May God comfort you and bless you during this difficult time.
