Kent Duane Kaufman

EAST PEORIA - Kent Duane Kaufman, 55, of East Peoria, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born on May 1, 1968, in La Mirada, CA, son of Carl A. Kaufman and Jean E. (Ferrenburg) Radcliff. Kent married Suzy (Suzette) R. Fox on November 15, 1997, in Peoria. She survives.
He is also survived by his three children: Carl R. Kaufman, Renee S. Kaufman, and Henry K. Kaufman, all of East Peoria; his father, Carl A. (Karen) Kaufman of Morton; brother, Kurt Kaufman of Mackinaw; sisters: Kelly Kaufman of Eureka, and Kristi Podesta of Newark, OH; step-brother, Dave Mitchell; step-sister, Natalie Mitchell; nieces: Jessi (Justin) Haley, Jen (Wyatt) Stoops, and Brandy (Danny) Fogler, all of Mackinaw; nephews: Brandon (Sarah) Fogler of Mackinaw, Mike (Jennifer) Podesta of Newark, OH; step-nieces: Ashley Mitchell and Jordan Godinez; and many great-nephews and great-nieces. Kent was preceded in death by his mother; and grandparents.
He was a graduate of Morton High School. Kent was part-owner of their family business, Tazewell County Asphalt, where he has worked for over 40 years with his father, Carl, brother, Kurt, nephew, Brandon, and son, Carl. Asphalt was in his blood, and he was proud of their company. He was a member of the Laborers Local 165 in Peoria and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria for over 25 years.
Kent enjoyed many things, especially camping and fishing in Arkansas with his family. He was a huge fan of fireworks, football, and animals of all kinds. Kent was always working on new projects with his family and friends. He was a friend to all and a joy to be around. Kent's kind heart and unconditional love will be forever cherished.
Kent's funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. His visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Park Lawn Cemetery in Danvers, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to TAPS.

So sorry to hear of Kent's passing, a lot of childhood memories growing up in Danvers. He was always a sweetheart. May he rest in peace.
