He made me feel so welcomed and seen every time I went to the open mic to share my poetry. His kindness, hilarious/unconventional feedback on my poems, and knowledge of local folklore made me want to come back week after week. He inspired artists of all sorts to believe in themselves and brought out the best in all of us. He was an amazing friend and I feel so fortunate to have gotten to know him.
