Not sure what to say?

Dear Kaile and Duncan,

I have thought of you so much these past few weeks and I pray you are doing okay. I only had the previlege of knowing your Dad for the last six and a half years -ever since I moved in next door to you. I remember that first summer wondering what had ever possessed me to buy a house with a big yard. I knew nothing about gardening and my intention was to dig everything up and plant grass. But your Dad - the master gardener - would have none of it. He was so...

Academia suffered a great loss with Kent's passing. He was one of the greatest instructors I ever encountered. He led AWESOME field trips. Kent was an amzing man. Although I do not know his children and their mother, my heart goes out to them. I pray peace will enter your hearts in time.

Sincerely,

Mike Jensen

Kent Taylor was an instructor in the SUNY Fredonia Geosciences Department for 22 years (1982-2004). During that time he forged a reputation as an excellent teacher, one who could transform difficult material into easily digestible and highly stimulating renditions. He always received the highest marks on student evaluations, and many of his students have reflected on how his courses changed their lives. When Kent left to pursue greener pastures, he left a void that has been difficult to...

My condolences to all. Kent and I crossed paths several times and shared some great experiences. He taught with me in several classes and replaced me during two semesters here at SUNY Fredonia. He generously led several field trips for my classes to Presque Isle and left me with extensive teaching materials to continue the trips into the future, which I have done. We shared many discussions about teaching the origin of landscapes and methods of research. Kent led a spectacular full day...

Kent seemed to know every grain of sand on Presque Isle – where it had been and where it would go. Earth was lucky to have had him on her shores, for however short the days. In class and in the field, his passion and intelligence were an inspiration to many. It was an honor to have known him.

My heart broke for Duncan and Kaile when I heard the news. After reading all the devotionals on this page , I have a new found respect for your Dad. I pray that you let God's love heal you and carry your Dad's love in your heart forever.

I was extremely shocked to hear of Mr. Taylor's passing. He was an amazing geology professor at Fredonia State. I had the pleasure of taking several courses from him. It was nice to see someone else from North East on the Fredonia State campus. He was also willing to help me out, whether it was with course work or giving me a letter of recommendation for my first teaching job. I owe a lot to this man and my deepest sympathies are with his children.

God Bless

Duncan,

You are in our thoughts and prayers during your time of sorrow. Your dad was a good guy and I remember him being one of my coaches on the swim team.

In Him,

To Kent Taylor's family,
I'm so shocked to hear of your passing. You were a great coach to my son and daughter. You left a great legacy in all of your "swimming days" to us as the parents of your students on the Y's Swim Team of N.E. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. May God be with them in this their time of need.
