My dance with Kent Weeks
I met Kent Weeks in 1988? (I’m kinda fuzzy about that year.) We were among a group of people on our way to Mutare, Zimbabwe to be part of the first board of directors meeting for a new university, sponsored by the United Methodist Church, a university for all of Africa. It was my first international trip; I even gloried in that 22-hour flight.

Being from Oklahoma and most recently Nashville, I was particularly curious as to what would be the first...

As a reporter for The Tennessean, I covered Kent and the elected school board. He was a true public servant, always gracious and ever a twinkle in his eye. I admired him greatly.

Very sorry to read about the passing of Kent. I am praying for the family during your time of grief. My wife (and assistant coach - Karen) passed away from a rare cancer in 2009) Please let me know if I can help in ANY way.

I am honored to have worked for Kent Weeks as his legal secretary/paralegal for 34 years. He was an inspiration and taught me so much through the years. He was also a loyal friend, and I will miss him. My condolences to the family.
