Not sure what to say?

As his journalism student and newspaper staffer in the late sixties, Ken taught me how to write, so I won´t bury the lead: He helped change the course of my life to one well-lived. "Mr. Wells" had a profound effect on my life teaching me much about inclusion, perspective, and how to achieve a positive outlook. Because of his example of what a Teacher can mean to a kid, I followed in his professional footsteps. I´m not sure he knew of the gratitude I hold; I think he knew of his importance...

Now, with a whole year having passed so quickly, my remembrances of Ken seem to grow more special. Even though I only really knew Ken as a teaching colleague, union leader/staff consultant and finally as a "next street over" neighbor later in our lives, he was always a hoot to run into. He would always ask how I was doing and we would spend time laughing and remembering the "old days." Looking back AND reflecting, it seems to me the successes of NC12 and NCEA are interwoven because of Ken's...

We were so very sorry to hear that Ken had passed away. We always enjoyed seeing him at our annual Christmas Party and picnics. He was always very engaging in his conversations with us. Ken had quite the sense of humor, and his laugh was infectious. I can still hear him laugh! He will be missed. We pray that you, Lea, and your family will find comfort and peace from God's presence, and we wish you well.

Ken was my high school journalism adviser during my sophomore and junior years. He was so supportive and encouraging-a great mentor and a great person. He played a big part in my future leading to jobs which have always involved aspects of both journalism and teaching.

I will miss Ken, he was one of my favorite fishing partners. Ken told me he had gone back to collage a couple years back and was taking a writing coarse. I asked what he wrote about, and he told me one of his ancestor. I found a book about his ancestor and have not stopped reading, thanks to Ken

Our friendship began in 1965 as classroom teachers (our rooms were right next to each other) and grew into lifelong contacts. Ken was always an optimist when it came to teaching. Our careers continued to cross as Ken became an elected leader of his local teachers' union...North Clackamas Education Association...and I served as his Uniserv Consultant. Ken was a recognized and respected advocate for fairness, justice and professional compensation for teachers. My condolences to Lea and...

My memories of Ken are many, but the best are those of our 4th of July gatherings in Manzanita. Lea and Ken always opened their home to Lances surf buds and we shared the best potluck cookouts, where Ken always loved grilling oysters. We would all walk down for a big bonfire and fireworks on the beach. This was our annual gathering for years. Thanks for all the laughs and fun times Ken. You be missed.

We have worked, played, traveled, cried, laughed, dined and had wonderful times with Ken for many years. He was a true friend & we love him and his family.

Ken was the best next door neighbor one good ever wish to have. I am disabled and Ken mowed my lawn for many years. I will miss seeing him out in his yard tending his garden and having little chats over the fence.
