Teacher, leader, mentor, friend: Kerry Lamus had a far-reaching impact on others around him.

Not sure what to say?

Kerry was a valued member of the math department at Mariner High School. As department chair, I got the opportunity to observe Kerry teaching classes. He was a master at his subject area, but also started a Chess Club--which became very popular. Still hard to believe he's gone.

I met Kerry and Nancy at MHS; they have both been wonderful friends. Although I hadn't seen Kerry in several years, he will always have a tender spot in my heart. When Kerry and Nancy married, I played a whimsical role of "best woman" standing next to Kerry instead of a best man. It always makes me laugh when I think about how much fun we had celebrating their marriage. Kerry was a very giving person who gave of his personal time to help out others. He tutored me with math more than once when...

I have many fond memories of meeting Kerry and the Lamus family beginning in fourth grade. Eastmont, especially the Valhalla/Gothic Way neighborhood, was an exciting place to grow up. Kerry (I assume with his parents blessings) spearheaded a lot of the activities, including shiplap hydro races on the adjacent lot (color commentary provided by Tim Ramstead ("The Voice"). Thank you Kerry and the entire Lamus family for being so welcoming. Jack Molver

So very sorry for your loss. Kerry made a positive impact on many of us. He will be fondly remembered.

I knew Kerry for ~50 years as a brother-in-law, soccer teammate, camping companion, and friend. I learned much from him and was dazzled by his intellect and memory. He was generous in so many ways and was a wonderful human being. I will miss him dearly.

Oh no. We can´t believe this. We are so sorry for your loss. Please give our love to the family. Annie McDowell

Sorry to read about Kerry´s death. It´s been years since I´ve seen him. We used to play games in his house as kids. One of the highlights was when our neighborhood played a backyard football game vs another team from a different neighborhood in eastmont. Thanks to Kerry´s great football skills we won the game. We all had a great time growing up there in the 60´s. His dad and mom were almost like 2nd parents to me.

I am devastated to hear this news. Mr. Lamus showed up for me as a learner in so many unique ways that I will be forever in his debt. I use some of the valuable lessons he taught me to this day as I continue my career in education. I hated math but Mr. Lamus found a way to connect the learning to my life. RIP to a fantastic educator.

Oh, Nancy, I am so sorry for your loss. Kerry was one of a kind. He enjoyed life and loved you madly. You are in my thoughts.
