Just found out about Kevin I never knew he was slipping away. We used to compare prostates and drink, laugh, and wind people up. I met Henry twice I think and said hi to you at the bond. I will miss him it was a privilege to have known him,even though for a few years. Warmest thoughts to you all. Eddie from the bond

Growing up in Hawthorndale, Invercargill, the name Kevin Burns was always to the forefront. A great sportsman, no matter what he played ... but excelling at cricket. So sorry to hear of your passing Kevin. A loss from Southland sporting royalty. RIP KJB

I too would like to add my condolences to the family of Burnsy.I lived in West Street and biked to Southland Boys every morning with him meeting up with Ferg on the way. We had all the worlds problems sorted buy the time we reached the school gates. Such a talented sportsman and great mate all those years ago. Rest in peace Burnsy. Ron Hinton.

Very sorry to hear of Kevin's innings coming to an end. I used to really enjoy watching him open the batting for Otago.
