I first met Kevin being his next door neighbor in Livermore on Paris Way, where I met many Oakland A's players who frequented his house, namely Joe Rudi, Billy North and others. Later, Kevin's and my paths crossed again when he became the head football coach at Granada my senior year. Kevin had a tremendous impact on my future as a football player at GHS(1979) and in college. We again crossed paths in 2012 when he coached GHS in the GHS vs LHS Alumni football game. My condolences for the loss of your beloved Kevin. I was fortunate to have been a teacher at Granada during some of his years there. His concern and work on behalf of his students, teachers, and staff, was inspiring. He will be missed greatly. Barbara Pinto-Choate

Kevin was my American Dad, a family friend whom I looked up to enormously. Whenever I came to the USA from Australia he and Vicki would go out of their way to take me places. This trip to Yosemite was so special, and so, too was this day in San Francisco. He taught me about American politics, history, literature, county and western music, football and being a good human.
