Kevin John Lipe

LIPE, Kevin John – Of Grand Blanc, age 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1951, in Evart, Michigan. Kevin graduated from St. Michael's Catholic High School and later earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Flint. A devout Christian, his faith was a cornerstone of his life. 

Kevin married his loving wife, Patricia Lipe, on April 26, 1975. They shared 50 wonderful years together. They raised four children and were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. 

Kevin dedicated 42 years of his life as a welder and millwright at General Motors, where he was known for his strong work ethic, technical skills, and lasting friendships. 

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, with hobbies that included hunting, fishing, camping, and other outdoor activities that brought him peace and created treasured memories with family and friends. 

Kevin is survived by his loving wife Patricia; his children, Teresa Shoultes, Michelle (David) Burr, Damien (Kristy) Lipe, and Kelly Shiffer (Adam Krejcarek); his grandchildren, Corey, Kyle (Alyssa Derouin), and Justine Shoultes, Isaac and Gavin Burr, Reese, Landon, Lindsay, and Bella Lipe, and Lachlyn Shiffer; his great-grandchildren Ivy Shoultes, Brooklynn Marzicola, and Kaiden Bachman; his siblings, Eddie (Pam) Lipe, Mary (Jim) Allender, Anne Lipe (Robin Plommer), Becky Noffsinger, and Rita (Michael) Pando; his sisters-in-law, Judy Lipe, Teresa Lipe, and Mary Beth Lipe, as well as dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Angela Lipe; his brothers, Gary, Terry, and Kenny Lipe; and his brother-in-law, James Noffsinger. 

Kevin was loved and will be forever missed. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton. 

Father Georges Bidzogo officiating. 

Visitation will be from 10am-1pm and 3-7pm Monday July 14, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Rosary will be prayed at 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will be at 12 noon on Tuesday at the church until the time of the Mass at 1pm.  Luncheon to follow directly after the service at the church hall.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Cremation will take place following the Mass.
