Not sure what to say?

Here it is with Halloween around the corner and I can't but think of Kevin and our Halloween fun. As the family was growing up, we always enjoyed Halloween. My favorite memory is when we lived in NJ in an old house with a dark cellar. We "fixed" it up for Halloween each year with chicken feet we had gotten from the butcher, peeled grapes and strings, etc. -- all hanging from the dark ceiling. We charged the neighbors 10 cents for our children to escort them through our haunted cellar,...

Getting the news of Kevin’s death was devastating. It felt like I had just seen him yesterday – which in terms of our family and the distance we live, was yesterday. When thinking about what I wanted to write, I was at a loss. The only thing that kept coming to me was all of the great memories.

Our visits were few and far between when we were growing up. We lived in New York and you lived in New Jersey and Minnesota.

Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Buddy had an anniversary party to...

Remembering Kevin: As a child I remember when the Robinson family was coming to visit. It was always crazy as they had 4 kids and we all had fun running around, playing in the backyard and in the pool. I also remember going to visit them in their house in Clifton New Jersey when I was a child. Their move to Minnesota made it hard for us to get together.

Five years ago Kevin came to Brooklyn to attend my parents' 55 anniversary party. He went out sightseeing with the Lassens and I...

In the days leading up to Kevin's service I thought about what I might
say about him publicly if the opportunity presented itself. I came up
with the following anecdote that I'd like to share.

The last time I saw Kevin was last summer in Brooklyn. I was there
with my whole family. Naturally I introduced him to my kids when we
first caught up with him.

The next time I was walking down the street with my son, Sam, who was
barely three at the time. ...

When I think of Kevin I think of a man of many layers. As a child, I thought he was admirable and yet a bully. Growing up I can't remember a visit we had that he didn't show off all of his wrestling moves on me with out me being on the bottom. Of course, I was never hurt just sour. I remember running to Aunt Jeanie and "telling on him often". She just laughed. Looking back it is rather funny. I could have learned a thing or two. lol

I remember how disciplined he was with...

Kevin, you were the first extended family of Scott's I had met, and we had such a great time at the Cubs game. You will be missed. I am sad we never made it up your way, as we'd planned.

Dear Jeanie, Den, Debbie, Ken, Karen, Ed, and, of course, Barb, Perry and Colin,
It's more than two weeks since Kevin is gone and I still can't believe it. He was so precious to me; I couldn't have loved him more if he were my own son. What a lot of fun, always laughing and joking and what a wonderful treat to see him last summer in Brooklyn! My family will always treasure the wonderful memories we had through the years -the visits between Glenview, IL and White Bear Lake, MN and all...

Matt and Angela

Hello, Angela here. I know I didn't spend much time with Uncle Kevin, but I loved our summer vacations and our trip to MN where we got to spend time with him. My love goes out to everyone effected by this, and my he rest peacefully.

Kevin was a great guy. He loved life and lighted up every room that he entered with his smile. It still hasn't hit me that the next big family occassion in New York won't have Kevin as a part of it. It hurts me that two full days in Manhattan with him sightseeing and still there was more to show him that we didn't. When I first met him about six or seven years ago, it felt like we just saw each other the day before. Kevin enjoyed life and loved everyone around him very much and that love...
