Kevin Anthony Rowland

Born January 9, 1971 in Seattle, WA; died August 29, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with diabetes. He graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School in 1989 and Shoreline Community College in 1997. Kevin worked as a phlebotomist but his real passion was river rafting. Kevin spent 13 years as a river rafting guide for River Recreation, traveling the rivers of the Pacific Northwest every weekend of the season.

He is survived by his mother, Bridget; his father Finian (Sally); siblings, Ann Bitzer (Rich), Kathleen, Teresa O'Leary (Stewart) and Patrick (Michelle); a large extended family; and many friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Martin.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 6th at 3 PM at St. Matthew Parish, 1240 NE127th St, Seattle, 98125.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Northwest Kidney Center, www.nwkidney.org.

I will cherish the memories of the many adventures Kevin and I had. I am deeply saddened by the loss of my friend. Please accept my condolences on your loss.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news, I fell I knew him because I was a good friend of Bridget at the gym. I only met him once but that big smile he had on is face drew you to him. Rest in peace Kevin. Friend of your Mom Eileen

Flounder my friend, your passing truley makes me sad and my condolances to your family during this hard time. You and your wizard hat and giant stien of yucca will also be missed. God speed.
