Kevin Casey Tifft, 60, of Wellesley Island and formally of Baldwinsville, NY passed away Tuesday, July 5th at his home. He had been under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.


 


Kevin was born in Watertown, New York on April 5th, 1956, son of Robert Noble Tifft Sr. and Sally Casey Tifft. He was a 1974 graduate of Watertown high school and attended Jefferson Community College.


 


He married Cyndie-Lou Miller on December 30th, 1981 in Watertown, NY.


 


Kevin worked in sales for food broker Reith Hogan & Hammer and for the WM. Wrigley JR Co. for 10 years. In 1988 he purchased Al Ricci Technologies, a company based in Syracuse, NY that specialized in industrial sales with accounts nationwide. He also owned the SJ Campisi Co. located in Watertown, NY that also specialized in industrial sales. In 2007 he opened a shop in Alexandria Bay, NY called “The Thousand Islands Pepper Store”, a gourmet foods / gift shop. He later converted that store into a bar called “The Sunken Rock”. He also operated an Ice cream store in Alexandria Bay called “The Whole Scoop”.


 


Throughout the years he was part of several organizations such as The Sons of the American Legion, Black River Valley Club of Watertown, NY, and the 1000 Island Chapter ACBS, of which he was a former boat show chairman for their annual vintage boat show.


 


Kevin had a strong love for the St. Lawrence River. He enjoyed boating, waterskiing, parasailing, downhill snow skiing, and hunting. He also enjoyed scuba diving and the Florida Keys, especially Key West.


 


A brother, Robert N. Tifft, Jr. died in 1987, a sister, Penelope Ann Tifft died in 1955, and a sister, Maureen Tift Monnat died in 2003.


 


Surviving besides his wife of 35 years are his son, Kevin C. Tifft, II and a daughter, Jessica T. Tifft, both of Wellesley Island.


 


The funeral will be 11:00am Friday, July 8th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will follow the funeral in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 7th from 4-7:00pm at the funeral home.
