Kezia E. Deming, age 27, of Cazadero, died on the morning of Wednesday April 19th at his home.  Kezia was born to Rhonda Greenwood and Gregory Deming on May 12th 1995 in Fortuna, California.


 


Kezia made a name for himself as the Hip-Hop and Dub Artist, Big Raven.  At age eleven, he began creating rap lyrics and at age fourteen, he began creating demo tapes.  By the time he was twenty-four, he was releasing and distributing music under his independent record label, Big Raven Recordings.  He mixed, mastered, recorded and published over twenty rap lyrics in several genres.  Big Raven’s best known albums are:  The Highwayman, Divine Ordination (Into the FRH1 Order), Dubbe Thou (Strength), Divine Ordination Pt. 2 (The Book Of Kets-ee-aw) and The Raven Land.  He influenced many lives through his spiritual music.


 


Surviving Kezia are his Mother, Rhonda McCoy, of Anchor Bay and his Father, Gregory Deming, of Hayfork; seven Brothers, Sky Deming, of Seattle, Washington, Cody Deming, of Los Angeles, Jesse Deming, of Boise, Idaho, Jebadiah Greenwood, of Bay City, Michigan, Zachariah Greenwood, of Bay City, Michigan, Micah Greenwood, of Santa Rosa and Rama Deming (enlisted service member) stationed in Hawaii.


 


Kezia’s Funeral Ceremony and viewing will be held at the Pleasant Hills Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel in Sebastopol on May 2nd at 1:00 pm.  Pastor Jim Swaney from the Sebastopol Christian Church will officiate.  Kezia’s final resting place will be at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park.  His family has suggested donations to honor the memory of Kezia Deming, to be made to Alexandra Greenwood’s GoFundMe account for Kezia Elijah Deming.
