Funeral for Kim Ellen Stricklin Amos, 42, of Decatur will be Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jackie Shelton officiating.
Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Amos, who died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at her residence, was born Feb. 15, 1964, in Hartselle to Martin W. Stricklin Sr. and Jeanette Freeman Stricklin. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Moulton until the time of her illness. She was employed by the Lawrence County School System as a substitute teacher. Her father preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Carrie Amos, Chrisy Amos and Cydney Amos, all of Decatur; one brother, Martin W. Stricklin Jr. of Decatur; her mother and stepfather, Jeanette and Clark Norman Jr. of Decatur; her fiance, Terry Livingston of Decatur; and aunts and uncles, Debbie Devine and Rayburn Freeman, both of Decatur, Sue Ward of Cullman and Jean and Truman Screws of Hartselle. Also, the Carlton Yarbrough family of Decatur; cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Greg Screws, Jerry Scott, David Manthey, James Norman, Russell Freeman and Bryan Devine.
Memorials may be made to the Decatur General Oncology Center or to Hospice of the Valley.

I just found out today about Kim`s passing and I`m truly sorry for your loss. Kim was married to my cousin Monty.My family moved here from N.C. in 1989 and it was a couple of years after that I met Kim. She was one of the sweetest people I think I ever met. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I am lucky to have the opprotunity to meet Kim. I met her four years ago but it wasn't till very recently that I got to know her, her three daughters Chrisy, Cydney, and Carrie. I have also gotten to know her mom, Jeanette, her stepdad Jimmy, and her brother, Marty. If the cancer had not taken her life, she would have married my dad, Terry Livingston, and became my stepmom. There are not enough words to explain just what Kim Ellen ment to me. She walked this earth full of grace, peace, & love. I had the oppertunity to share many many thing w/ Kim. A wonderful loving familey, terrific holidays, and just all around GREAT times.She graced my 3 boys w/ her love and embrace everytime she saw them. She is an example for every mother to follow. I know she will walk beside me as I continue to raise my boys.

I spoke with Jennifer Bush Long tonight and she told me about Kim's passing. Oh, what a sweet memory Kim will always hold in my heart! Most of my memories were when Kim and I were in middle school toghther and both played horrible clarinet in the band. Kim, Janova and me....last chairs. But we had such fun and we would get so tickled, Kim would have that clainet in her mouth and tears streaming down her face because we found everything really funny!
