Kim "Coach" Bird

I think many will agree this has been the quietest year without Kim. He brought so much love and life to each day that it's still so hard to believe he's gone. Rest well my friend.

Kim was an exceptional coach and person who I admired. He will be truly missed . my prayers go out to his family.

To the Bird Family,
With a heavy heart I am saddened to hear the passing of Kim. Having met Kim at CDO through my brother he was a good friend, always there to lend a hand. Although our lives took different paths and I have not seen Kim in years you knew Kim was the kind of person that would be there for you. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Kim knows that we have lost a special person. On behalf of the Faccio family please accept our condolences.

It was a great shock to my family to hear of your loss. Kim coached my daughter for nearly 10 years and was instrumental in her earning a spot on the UNLV cheer squad as a freshman. I will never forget how Kim encouraged my daughter to pursue excellence in every aspect of her life. When tumbling was difficult and she wanted to give up on a skill, Kim never let her quit. My mother called me with this news yesterday. The Celebration of Life is so fitting - to take the time to remember and cherish the fun, contagiously-happy, gifted, remarkable, supportive person Kim was. He truly touched everyone he met.

I can't believe you are really gone. You have been so much more that just Angela and David's coach..you were our friend. So many times we talked for hours on the phone about gym, work and personal issues. The fun we had with the Halloween meets and updating the website. I'm shocked and saddened to see Kim's smiling face here. I haven't spoken to him for years, but the memories of going to elementary and middle school with him are vivid in my mind. I spent many hours playing with him after school and will remember him always.
