I met Kim around 13 years ago on a dive boat going to the Dry Tortugas. I have been diving with her brother Ricky and sons Alex and Patrick and her former husband Dr. Hamrick during past trips. We struck up a friendship and took several adventures together including camping at Juniper Springs and Everglades Florida. Kim was always ready for adventures and always wanted to cook something that you liked. She showed love through her actions and taught me the importance of being thrifty. She was...

Nature Coast Dulcimer Players Around the Fireplace at Christmas Time

I met Kim at a practice of the Nature Coast Dulcimer Players a few years ago. She played the dulcimer beautifully and effortlessly. She sang like an angel. Kim was always the first person to show up with food if someone was sidelined by an operation or injury. She brought me enough spaghetti and salad to eat for days when I broke my foot a few years ago. She was a very caring, nurturing, and intelligent person. She was a great gift to the world. In turn, she gave her beautiful sons Patrick...

I think on Kim with warmth and affection. In Bryson City she worked energetically on many good community causes. She was a devoted mom and made sure her kids had lots of enriched experiences. I am so so sad about her passing and know that she has left a large hole in the hearts around her. I send love and sincere condolences to Alex and Patrick.

Kim and I both worked at Swain County Hospital. While working there I adopted three children and Kim bought gifts for the children when I was given a shower for the children because they didn't own but one bag of stuff between all three of them when we picked them up from Social Services in Eastern NC. Cabbage Patch babies had just become the big thing and were hard to find. However Kim got one for my daughter. I have never forgot her kindness.

I first met Kim in Bryson City and then again in Florida. I had the great pleasure of being her friend for many years. We shared good times in both FL and NC, and just wish that we had time for many more. She had such a big heart, a wonderful infectious laugh, and so much love to give to all. She will be so missed by us both. Sheryl & Dennis Hunting

Kim was one of the founding members of our mountain dulcimer group and we will miss her. We always enjoyed her energetic style and ready smile not to mention stories of her travels. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

We will miss Kim at all of our dulcimer jams and functions. She was joy to have as a friend
