A memorial and wake will be held for Kim Marie McGuire, 47, of Agness, formerly of Coos Bay, at noon Saturday, Feb. 14, at Sunset Beach State Park. Cremation rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens Crematory in Coos Bay.

Kim was born July 6, 1961, in Minneapolis, Minn. She died Dec.21, 2008, in Agness.

She lived most of her life in the Coos Bay-North Bend area. Kim was a 1980 graduate of North Bend High School. She remained on the coast, raising her two sons and always being involved with their education and after school activities. She served as a teacher's assistant while her sons were in elementary school. She helped organize school events and was a year-round team mom for every sport. Later in life, Kim experienced some hard times with the loss of her brother, Terry and husband, Tom. During these tough times, she was still able to provide for her sons and remained the backbone for her family. Kim was a person who loved life. She enjoyed riding in the dunes and camping every summer. In January 2005, Kim met her soul mate, Shawn. With him by her side, she lived out the rest of her years in peace in the beautiful town of Agness.

She is survived by her mother, Sharon Phillips of Bandon; father, Jim Ebinger of North Bend; soul mate, Shawn Pantoga of Agness; sons, Tommy McGuire and Donald Harvey; and siblings, Bradley Phillips, Christine Phillips and Robin Ebinger all of Coos Bay, Jim Ebinger Jr. of North Bend and Curt Phillips of Eugene.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Kim McGuire Memorial Fund, c/o P.O. Box 749, Coos Bay, OR 97420.

Arrangements are under the direction of Coos Bay Chapel, 267-3131.

Oh Kim you were such a sweet independent girl. You were the best thing that ever happened to Tom. I loved you both and can't believe you're your gone. You'll be forever in my heart and thoughts.

Kim was a wonderful person and mom! I remember baking cookies with her and her b-day parties she'd throw. My thoughts are with the boys!

Kim...we spent many years growing up together...scraped knees, laughs, and good times. You will be missed by many...Love, Doll
