Not sure what to say?

Even now, in August 2024, Kim's name comes up at NASA not infrequently. He made such a difference, guiding and promoting making things better gently but persistently. He was much loved for his kindness, compassion, reason, intellect, and integrity. He is missed

Another year has passed without Uncle Kim, but his memory and impact will live on forever. He was such a dedicated uncle, always coming to all of the events he could while we were kids and was always happy to host us, especially when it came to visiting Baltimore Harbor or going on a trip to the Building Museum. I love and miss you Uncle Kim!

I'm thankful Theresa gave me this photo my Uncle Kim kept in his office. I keep it on my desk now; I will always remember how great of an uncle you were to all of your nieces and nephews. I love and miss you Uncle Kim.

Cancer won My wonderfulson is now a done and now a fond memory I shall cry and niss him forever. Dad

Although I had worked with Kim for a number of years, I didn't get to really know him until after I retired in 2015. My wife of 28 years had died a few months earlier, and Kim reached out to me to join him bike riding. He saw pretty quickly that I was in a lot of pain, and he gently helped me cope. On those bike rides together, we rode many miles and explored lots of different places in the DC/Baltimore/Annapolis/Suburban MD/Northern Virginia areas. He patiently listened as I shared...

Kim, A bright star has stopped shining among us. I will forever treasure the memories of you marching in my office with a full cup mug which prompted me to clear my calendar for an hour of engaging conversation. I will forever miss our discussions on NASA assets and your proclamations of how we need to manage them and how our programs are to be coordinated. You were progressive, productive and a pleasure. I always enjoyed our discussions on philosophy and learning about your wonderful...

On the morning following Kim's passing, I posted the following note and photo to social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). In the coming days, I will post additional photos and reminiscences of Kim, who was as close to a brother as I will ever have.

In 2008, @architectmag graciously allowed me to interview my college roommate, @NASA planner (and architect) Kim Toufectis. One of my best friends for 40+ years, the longtime @BuildingMuseum volunteer passed away last night. RIP,...

My heart is broken by this news. Kim was such an amazing person and planner and a huge professional inspiration to me. I will never forget that smile and his passion for the field. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

A shining light in anyone's day. Kim brought joy into each interaction with others, even when first meeting. His brilliance, contagious smile wittiness, and giving manner are with us always.
